About the Feminist Action Lab

The Feminist Action Lab: Growing our Intergenerational Power is an online course on feminist advocacy made for and by feminists. Through our video dialogue series and study-guides, we hope to build more bridges between generations and to share histories, provoke new questions, and build intergenerational power.

Restless Development, with the help of dozens of feminist activists, has created this course to support youth-led action on gender equality. The Lab complements the major Action Coalition themes from the Generation Equality Forum (GEF) and highlights global feminist movements and their impact.

How we did it.

The Feminist Action Lab is a collaborative project. Our study-guides were co-authored by young feminists embedded in movements and advocacy work. Our speakers are active leaders in the Generation Equality Forum and the Beijing+25 Process and come from national feminist movements and organizations. Nafisa Ferdous (she/her) is an intersectional feminist and the Senior Program Manager for Restless Development US. She has a background in gender and sexual rights having worked in movement spaces as well as in gender and development in Asia, the US, East Africa and Latin America for over 8 years.

Partnerships Lead, Feminist Action Lab

Abel Koka is a young feminist from Tanzania. He is working as a Program Coordinator at Restless Development. Abel is also a member of the Generation Equality Youth Task Force set up by UN Women to lead the global youth to meaningfully contribute to all structures of the Generation Equality Forum.
